Life is quite hectic, so I wanted to paint something calm. I love how the pale blue of the Pacific Ocean compliments the siennas in these showy coastal grasses. I’ve always found painting to be a peaceful respite from the everyday noise and turbulence that surrounds us. It was quite nice to tap into that mood for this painting and escape a little bit.
